Stalk at your own Risk

Crazy ex-lovers and nosey-ninnies of the world have a new reason to live. Thanks to the new technology of Google Latitude, stalking has become a national pastime. Not only can you keep up with your friends and "friends" on Facebook and Twitter, Google has created an application throught its Google Maps where you can literally follow your prey on a map; see exactly where they are at all times.

Google Latitude is a location-aware mobile app developed by Google. Latitude allows a mobile phone user to let certain people track where he or she is. These people can track the user (or more accurately, his or her phone) on Google Maps via their own iGoogle accounts. The user can control the accuracy and details of what each of the other users can see — an exact location can be allowed, or it can be limited to identifying the city only. For privacy, it can also be turned off by the user, or a location can be manually entered. The user must enable the location features of the phone, which are normally only transmitted to emergency telephone numbers such as wireless E911. (Wikipedia)

Some concerns about privacy tend to arise when discussing moble-tracking, but rest assured that YOU control who sees you and at what detail. If your friend has a Gmail profile, they even use their picture to depict their location. Google Latitude has only really taken off in the mobile-savvy (ultra-bored) circles. Sprint also dabbled into mobile-tracking with their Family Locator Program offered to over-protective parents of teens.
Here's a video that shows just how "useful" Google Latitude can be. It's actually very entertaining.
